It’s not a great time to be HP: the tech giant just posted its biggest-ever loss, a whopping $8.9 billion

Reviews of HP’s ill-fated TouchPad were unanimous: the hardware wasn’t anything special, but the operating system, WebOS, was great. When HP killed off its WebOS tablet, pundits began to speculate: would it die with the tablet? Would it be sold to a rival firm, such as Amazon? Would HP keep it locked away forever?

The news that HP is canning its tablet business means there will be no more TouchPads – but that doesn’t mean existing ones have suddenly become useless.

Remember the HP TouchPad, the most iPad-y of the iPad-a-likes? Well, you can forget about it again: HP’s killed it.
