Have you ever wondered what would happen if you superglued an Xbox controller to a tablet? Nvidia seems to have, because its Project Shield gaming tablet is what some people might call “quirky” and others “a horrible mess”

Next week is Computex, the trade show where the electronics industry’s best and brightest shows off their best and brightest ideas. And a little bird tells us this year’s best and brightest ideas tend to be tablet-shaped.

In 2010, processor firm Nvidia couldn’t get enough of tablets. “Without question, 2010 is going to be the year of the tablet,” creative strategies president Tim Bajarin said. Fast-forward a year, though, and the firm is more pessimistic. Tablets are rubbish!
